fuel yourself with the best healthy and yummy whey protein
Do you HATE whey protein powder? Do you loathe artificial sweeteners and can taste them in everything?
Me! Over here!
I don’t even like the IDEA of protein powder so sure enough when I started counting macronutrients I knew I was in trouble. It would be wise to have a quick grab protein to help me meet my protein goals, especially at first because it was such a shift from how I was eating before. I reluctantly started my search.

FINDING HEALTHY AND YUMMY WHEY PROTEIN powder
Finding a protein powder product for me was proved to be a challenge. I wanted the convenience of a flavored mix because this was going to be a quick “emergency only” meal for me. I wanted to fuel myself predominantly with whole foods. Never mind I prefer to eat, not drink my calories, especially in the winter. Trying to piece together a DIY protein drink with my husbands unflavored protein was proving to not be convenient enough for my needs.
SO MANY factors went into it. Taste, purity, or mouth feel… there was always AT LEAST one thing wrong. Ideally, I was looking for something WITHOUT artificial sweeteners or Stevia, because I really couldn’t stand the taste. It needed to taste good and have no or minimal fillers. I also did not want to see added natural or artificial flavors. Bonus points if it used grass fed whey.
first stop: trial and error
First, I found OWYN shakes which were close to meeting my goals but contained natural flavors. I also am not vegan, so I didn’t need dairy free protein. But it worked for now. I used the OWYN shakes when I was in emergency mode for a protein fix in my beginning stages of counting macros. There is definitely a learning curve to counting macros and I was chronically eating less protein than I needed to be when I was learning how to eat within my macros. It was also super convenient that they were pre-made and “grab and go”. Eventually I needed to take some time to find something that more closely meet my specifications.
Then, I happened upon Simply Tera’s Pure Whey Protein at my local grocery store and I was IMPRESSED!
When I picked it up off the grocery shelf I was impressed with the simple ingredients. Stevia seems to be the best I find sweetener wise in a whey protein powder so I bought it to give it a try. It was delicious! I can’t STAND the flavor of so many artificial sweeteners including Stevia, but I couldn’t taste the Stevia in the Simply Teras.
why simply teras whey protein powder?
1. Clean ingredients
No fillers, just simple, clean ingredients. It is a HUGE bonus that the whey protein is grass fed.
2. Good Macros
You may be surprised but you need to be aware that not all protein supplements are created equal. Some are too high calorie for what you get protein-wise and you will end up going over your calories for the day. The macros of this protein powder worked for me with my macros.
3. Great taste
I keep both the dark chocolate and the bourbon vanilla stocked at all times. The taste is great and not artificial tasting.
4. Good texture
The texture of Simply Teras is great and NOT grainy or chalky.
5. Affordability
A grass fed whey protein powder at about $1.33 per serving is a reasonable price.
6. Assessibility
I love being able to pick this protein up at my local grocery store. It is also available on Amazon.

how to utilize the simply teras whey protein powder
I love to blend my shakes with ripe bananas and kefir. I use a stick blender to avoid getting out the big blender and just blend in a Mason jar because it fits perfectly! Skyr would be a great option too but you may need a little milk to water it down. Skyr has higher protein than other greek yogurts and can give your shake an added boost of protein.
