Boost your confidence by knowing how to clean yourself well and having pride in your personal hygiene routine. God says it. You are worth it. Care for the body God gave you and revolutionize your perspective with SIMPLE, non toxic body care to blast away the blues!

There are many reasons why we may not have a good hygiene routine
1. We think it’s selfish to invest in self care
Being a woman means you are likely aware and sensitive to other’s needs around you. It may feel selfish to take time to yourself when others have needs. Unfortunately, you may have been taught that spending time caring for yourself is selfish.
God made you as well as others. You are of great value, to the point He sent His own Son to die on a cross for you for all your sins. You matter as well as others and taking the time necessary to care for the Temple of God’s Spirit that you are (Yes, He lives in You) is of utmost importance so you can be an example to others and also be prepared for the work He has for you today. Even if it is not paid work, you are thankfully alive and well and He has something for you today.
2. We are too busy (a.k.a overwhelmed)
We will allow needs to distract us to the point that we will place self care at the bottom of our list. Our needs to have a tidy home, be an ideal employee, be an attentive wife and mother etc… pick your poison. Doing these tasks are all wonderful and good but what are we reflecting when we are unkept and uncared for while doing them? We are treating ourselves not as blessed to have this work to do, but rather slaves in bondage to this work. Work that must be compulsively done at our expense. We are demonstrating that we don’t value ourselves as Children of God.
3. We were never taught to care for ourselves
No need to be embarrassed if this is the case for you, because it is unfortunately true for so many. Parenting requires extreme diligence and training and many well intentioned parents feel that many things should be intrinsically known. Unfortunately this isn’t the case, even with things such as hygiene. We reject our responsibility as parents when we discount every opportunity to train and teach, choosing instead to ignore it, be selfish, or yell about how whatever it is should be “understood” information.

rectify our body care to blast away the blues
It’s never too late to start prioritizing body care in order to blast away any negativity and to walk out in faith your God given gifts as a Child of God. Cast off any shame of the past and ask God to transform your mind and help you walk forward in Truth.
Having body products you feel confident in and enjoy is personal to you. I will offer some suggestions of simple, non-toxic products that I love because having natural body care is very important to me, but use whatever you have or take a look around for some items that you feel excited to try personally. Once you find what you like, pass along or toss products you don’t like, making your bathroom area a more enjoyable, clutter free space for you and your family to use.
I also use these same products on my daughter and I feel great using them. I am also enjoying teaching her proper hygiene so she feels confident and glad to value herself the way God would want her to.

Simple, non-toxic products I love for body care
1. Toupes and Co Vanilla and Almond Tallow Balm
This stuff is a DREAM. I use it on my face, lips, and hands, and sometimes over my whole body. Smells amazing, nourishing, and completely natural. I am checking out some local sellers that may have a product that compares, but last time I tried something less expensive I regretted it. If you can afford it, this product is worth it. A little goes a long way.
3. Tallow Goat’s milk soap
Authentic soap is made with fat and lye and that’s it. I really love GraziSoaps on Etsy. Pure ingredients with nourishing Goat’s milk as well as tallow, this soap is luxurious and completely pure.
4. Dr. Bronner’s Almond Hemp Castile Soap
Smells delicious and more nourishing than some of their other soaps in my opinion. I also use this product in foamers to make foaming hand soap for our kitchen and bathroom.
2. Badger Baby Oil
New to the arsenal in this cold, dry winter weather. This product smells great, seals in the moisture after a shower, and is less expensive than the tallow. An alternative I’d love to splurge on some day would be Toupes and Co Organic Body Oil. I compared ingredients when I was looking for a dupe, and although the order of ingredients and the scent options are different I would consider Badger Baby Oil a dupe for the Toupes and Co Organic Body Oil.
5. Spa Headbands
These are just too fun, cute, and make you feel good. Practically speaking, they keep my hair dry when I am not washing it which helps it from getting more greasy in the long run. I wear them in the shower and while putting on face lotion and/or makeup.
6. Baby Washcloths
I am so hooked on this type of washcloth I bring it when I travel. They foam up your soap or body wash, and really enable you to scrub yourself well without having the extra scratchiness of something like an African net sponge. They also dry quicker than conventional washcloths so I hang them on the edge of the hamper and they don’t sit in there soaking the rest of my laundry and making it smell.

simple Hygiene routine
- Put my hair up in a bun and use my Spa Headband and hop in the shower
- Rub my Washcloth on my Goat’s Milk Tallow Soap, and foam it up
- SCRUB EVERYWHERE. Between your toes, behind your ears, behind your neck!
- Rinse well, get a new cloth, or use a pouf
- Apply Almond Hemp Castile Soap, and foam it up
- Wash everywhere again 🙂
- Rinse
- Shut off the shower, and rub your hands along your body to remove some of the excess water
- Put Toupes and Co Vanilla and Almond Tallow Balm on your face
- Apply Badger Baby Oil. Rub it between your hands and run along your body. You could add more lotion or tallow on top of the oil if you want to be fancy or need extra moisture
- Pat dry
- FEEL refreshed and clean. You are WORTH IT!
